Activity Night happens the first Wednesday Night of each
month for Main Street Kids. This is a night when Main Street Kids go
to the Discovery Station in Kidzville to get a hands-on experience of
God's Word. We are currently incorporating Science Adventures
materials with our lessons during Activity Night; which were donated to
Kidzville by Pitt Community College. By having these materials, we
can provide our kids with a more exciting learning experience in God's
Word.
Ambassadors
Ambassadors is a mentorship program for kids between the
ages of 9 and 12 who feel they have a special calling or gifting to serve
God. The purpose of this program is to help kids discover and develop their
individual gifts from God and prepare them for ministry. Kids within the
Ambassadors program are required to complete 5 devotions and 3 prayer journal
entries each week; all followed by a meeting each Wednesday Night from
6:00pm-6:30pm. The groups at Kidzville that are eligible to sign up for
this program are kids within U-Turn and Club 3:16 between the ages of 10
and 12.
Daily
Devo with Kevo
(coming soon)
The Daily Devo with Kevo is going to be a special pre-recorded broadcast
from Children's Pastor, Kevin Smith about a verse in the Bible.
For most kids, spending time in God's Word is a rare occasion; but this
daily devotion will hopefully give kids a new way to discover God's Word
and apply it to themselves.
Discovery Station
The Discovery Station is a program and place specifically
designed to help our Teachers give children a fun, hands on, visual experience to applying
the word of God. The Discovery Station is used exclusively every
3rd and 5th
Wednesday Nights by Main Street Kids.
Family Night
With life getting so busy, we often miss out on the moments
that matter most with our children. Family Night is an event that is designed to give families an opportunity to spend time with one another.
We have two types of Family Nights: one that parents and kids
participate in together AND the other style of Family Night is when we
watch the kids while parents spend some quality time with one another. Our Family Night activities and events
differ throughout the year and
is for families and Kidzville Groups of all ages. Examples of Family
Nights include Movie Night, Father Son Campout, Arts and Crafts and more. For information
about upcoming Family Night events, just check out the
upcoming events calendar.
Junior
Kids Church
We have two Kids Church programs that happen on Sunday Mornings for
our Kids here at Kidzville. And Junior Kids Church has been designed
exclusively for Cross Town and Main Street Kids. Each Sunday, Cross
Town and Main Street Kids each get a 30 minute opportunity when they leave
their class and come Jr. Kids Church.
In Junior Kids Church
kids get the opportunity to play games, participate in Praise and Worship,
learn life lessons through Puppets, and then get the opportunity to spend
any Kidzville Dollars earned at the Kidzville Store. The service for
each group is different so that each age group is reached on their level.
This gives Kidzville an opportunity to put kids on a "stair step" like
journey in their relationship with Christ, so that their adventure in
Kidzville is always changing and growing.
Kids Church
Kids Church happens at 10:30am every Sunday Morning in
Kidzville for U-turn, and Club 3:16. Kids get the opportunity to experience church
in a whole new way through interactive games, DVD Based life lessons, live
Kid led Praise and
Worship, and Bible based object lessons.
Kidzville Arts
(choirs, music, puppets, dance
& more)
The Kidzville Arts program is designed to give kids an
opportunity to discover their talent and learn something new while
helping them find their place in the body of Christ. Research also
shows that children who use musical instruments develop certain motor and
learning skills faster than others. The Arts programs offered vary
for each age group. Read below to discover more about our Kidzville
Arts program.
Hand Bell Choir
Music Class For Main Street Kidz
The Main Street Kidz who participate in the Kidzville Arts program get the
opportunity to play in the kids hand bell choir. This is the
beginners level and will also build on many of the musical skills learned in the
previous Cross Town classes and also teaches many new ones. This
program happens every 3rd Wednesday night of every month in Kidzville.
The Director of our
Early Elementary Musical Program is led by Beth Hegwer, one of our local
church members who regularly teaches music courses at a school within our
community and also has a college degree in teaching music to children.
Kidzville Choir
For Main Street Kidz, U-turn, and Club 3:16 The Kidzville Choir takes place on Sunday Nights for kids
of Main Street, U-turn, and Club 3:16. This gives kids an opportunity to sing praises to the
Lord while learning to work together, read music, and how to use proper
singing techniques. The Kidzville Choir practices for different
seasons and events such as Easter and Christmas, so be sure to stay tuned
for announcements in the Bulletin or on our Website for when those
practices take place.
Arts Classes
For U-turn and Club
3:16 (starting january 2009) Every 3rd Wednesday night is Arts Night for the older kids.
In these Arts classes, kids learn skills that they will get the
opportunity to use in the services of the following weeks to come.
Some of the Arts classes
offered for U-turn and Club 3:16 kids include Praise and Worship, Puppets, Face Painting,
Balloon Art, Teaching Devotions, Human Video, Dance, Drama and more. Kidzville
Production Ministry is also another class that's offered on arts night
where kids learn the fundamentals of film making.
Kid Careers
Kid Careers is a program we're starting for our early
elementary kids (Main Street Kids). Kid Careers gives children an
opportunity to learn about a specific person and their trade in the real
world. The kids in the class also get the opportunity to do a hands
on activity related to the particular trade that night. The kids
will be everything from nurses and firemen to painters and engineers.
Kid Careers is only for Main Street Kids and happens every 5th Wednesday night of the month.
Kidzville
Cares
Kidzville Cares is our compassion ministry in which kids
get the opportunity to help others both in the community and abroad.
Kidzville Cares does one service and missions project within the community
each quarter. Kids part of this ministry learn about sharing the
love of Christ by showing compassion toward others. Kidzville Cares
also educates kids about Missions every 5th Sunday.
Here's a video of some
of our first missions projects in 2009
Kidzville Kid Bucks and
Kidzville Store
Kidzville Kid Bucks is a program that we started to help
teach kids about financial responsibility. And there's no better way
than to learn how to earn, save, and spend God's way. Since we live in a world
that is so affected by money, we thought it would be great to have our
very own Kidzville Currency called Kidzville Dollars. Kidzville
Dollars are printed by the Kidzville Federal Reserve and are given out by
all Teachers and Volunteers within Kidzville. Kids can be rewarded
Kidzville Bucks by sharing, following directions, working with others, or
even by simply volunteering and helping out.
But just as kids can
easily earn Kidzville Bucks, they can also lose Kidzville Bucks. You
can lose Kidzville Bucks by being fined by littering or by consistently
and defiantly being disobedient.
All Kidzville Bucks
can be redeemed at the Kidzville General Store for great prizes and
rewards.
Right now, Kidzville Dollars is
available for Cross Town, Main Street, U-turn, and Club 3:16.
Kidzville
Kids Club
Kidzville has its very own Kids
Club that is exclusively for Kids within Kidzville. Kidzville
Kids Club Members are given exclusive access to Members Only Events,
Items, and Areas. It costs $5 per child to get a lifetime membership
and you must be a part of the U-turn or Club 3:16 class/group to join.

Kidzville Production Ministries
(video ministry)
With a rapidly growing technological age, kids are much
more advanced in all types of electronics. That's why we started a
Production Ministry at Kidzville. Kids who participate in Kidzville
Production Ministries get the the opportunity to play a part in acting,
filming, and editing many different productions. Some of our
productions will be filmed on Arts Night and some will be filmed on Sunday
Night during Service.
Our Production
tools include a Green Screen, Set Lighting, Sound, Voice Effects, Film
Editing Software, a Video Camera, Microphones, Costumes, and even Make-Up.
Our productions that kids get to participate in include...
Kidzville Commercials
This gives kids an opportunity to participate in advertising announcements
and future events that all happen in Kidzville. The commercials are
then played online and in both Kidz Church and Big Church.
Kidzville 411(coming
soon to Kidzville)
The Kidzville 411 is our Kidzville News. This gives kids an
opportunity to get Kid related news from Kids.
Plays, Musicals and
Theatrical Productions
Kids
Zone
The Kids Zone is a room that is essentially the central
meeting room for Kidzville Kids. This room is used at different
times throughout the week to minister to the different age groups in
Kidzville. For example, on Sunday Mornings, Cross Town and Main
Street Kids get the opportunity to participate in Junior Kids Church here.
And on Wednesday Nights, this is where the two older groups (U-turn/Club
3:16) get the opportunity to have their very own Worship Service.
Merge
Merge is a program that has been designed exclusively for
pre-teen kids of Club 3:16.
Merge is an event that happens every month or so when kids of Club 3:16 and
youth from 24.7 Youth Group "merge" with each other. The event
varies from month to month: from video games or bowling alleys or
just pizza at the church. The program is supposed to give kids of
Club 3:16 an opportunity to connect with others there age while
establishing a relationship Youth Pastor Brian Cartwright and those in
24.7 Youth Group. This will hopefully make the transition into teen
life a lot smoother when kids of Kidzville turn 13 and move up into 24.7
Youth.
Safety
Sam Safety Sam is used exclusively with the Cross Town and Main Street
Kids. Safety Sam is an imaginary "cartoon like" Irish Traffic Cop in
Kidzville. We use Safety Sam as a means to teach kids, in a fun way,
the rules that need to be followed in Kidzville. This helps us teach kids
how to be obedient.
Here's a look at our rules for Cross Town and Main Street Kids:
1. Listen to Your Teachers
2. Never Remove you Check-In Name Tag
3. Put other first by being Kind
4. Make a New Friend
5. If you need to use the bathroom, let your teacher know
And just as there are
rules to follow, there are also consequences when they are not followed.
When kids do not follow the rules given, they are given three warnings.
Once the third warning is given, the child is sent to jail, which is
pretty much a "time out" place in the room and the child is given a
ticket. The ticket, or pink slip if you want to call it, is given to
the parent when they pick up their child. This helps us show the
parent what rules were not followed so that they can help us teach the
child how to be obedient in the classroom.
Story
Book Hour
Story Book Hour is something we try to do once each
quarter for Kids 7 and under. This is a time when a biblical story comes to life in a way
that surprises even the best imagination.
The
Wake Up Call with Kevin
(coming soon)
Worldly pop culture is
something that's a growing trend with kids today; and the music, tv shows,
radio stations and magazines are all areas that highly influence their
heart and soul. With The Wake Up Call video, we hope to address worldly pop culture in a real but funny manner that will
hopefully help the kids "Wake Up" and make better choices with a biblical
worldview.
